My Story
I got my first job at 14. I remember my first paycheck, somewhere along the lines of $300, and I thought I was rich!
At $5.25/hour, this was no small feat. I continued working various jobs and I realized that in the toss up between the two generalized money categories that people fall in to (spender versus saver), I had naturally become a saver. I went into my twenties with a small chunk of change, and I protected it with my life. Thanks to an amazing opportunity, I was blessed to start making more money than I had ever dreamed possible at that point.
Unfortunately, I did not have much guidance and squandered much of it quickly. In fact, that season ending with taking a loan out to pay taxes!
After 30, I realized I had nothing saved for retirement, and I decided to get ahold of my finances. I researched, took classes, met with advisors, and eventually became a financial coach because every mistake I made was avoidable. It was one common pitfall after another.
I want to help people and prevent the mistakes, arguments, and stress that accompany money. Money is a powerful tool that can be used for so much good. I hope that I can help people achieve their money goals and make real change in the world.
